Implementation of the MTSP is fully dependent on contributions from the industry. A 501(c)(6), the MI Tourism Plan Fund, has been established in which to collect funds. This entity will be overseen by a five-person board consisting of Travel Commissioner Chair Roger
Curtis (President, MIS), Travel Commissioner and Funding Committee Co-Chair Jerry Toney (President of Accommodations, Grand Hotel), Travel Commissioner Bill Parlberg (President/COO, Zehnder's of Frankenmuth), Funding Committee Co-Chair Steve Yencich
(President/CEO, MLTA), and Greg Ayers (President/CEO, Discover Kalamazoo). Funds will be raised by the MTSP Funding Committee. Requests for funding will be submitted by implementation committee co-chairs on a quarterly basis for review/approval by the Travel
Commission; industry comment on these proposals is encouraged. The MTSP governance structure and process is outlined in more detail here.
To contribute to the implementation of the MTSP, please complete this form and return it to the address listed. Alternatively, contact Steve Yencich (517-267-8989, SteveY@milodging.org) or Sarah Nicholls (517-432-0319, nicho210@msu.edu) directly.
